Before I was familiar with Grant Cardone, I read quite a bit of online articles about how to ascend to the next financial level. Some were bullshit, others were actually kind of insight.

Random thoughts from random notes over the years

Today I get a lot of motivational speaking from Twitter (of course) and actually from Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman’s, “The Daily Stoic”. It gives you 366 meditations to start your day with wisdom and a bit of stoicism. I don’t get a quick read in every day but I keep it on my desk ready to go.

Throughout the years, I’ve searched and sought out answers to my life. I have so many notebooks from 2015 and beyond stating the same things with, the same plans, and the only change I have seen is that I own a house that I’m not necessarily thrilled about, a 9-5 job that has me in golden handcuffs, and the excuses that I don’t have enough time. Times does fly when you have aspirations and don’t have the courage to pursue.

As I went through those paper’s though, here is a list of some curious things I wrote down:

  1. Strive to create 10x - 100x in value for any price you charge. Your rewards are always proportionate to the value you provide.

  2. Focus on the 'critically few proactive activities that produce exponential results. Don't get caught up in minutia & bullshit. Focus!

  3. Get your idea out there as fast as possible even if it's not quite ready by setting must-hit deadlines. Let the market tell you if you have a winner or not. If not - move on and fail forward fast! If it's got potential - then you can make it better. The one great characteristic of internet-based businesses is that the feedback loop is shortened and rapid iteration can be done to perfect the model.

  4. Your reputation always counts. Honor your obligations and agreements. There's nothing more important than INTEGRITY. A funny thing about reputation and Integrity, one of my first business ventures was Saving Our Style, an online local street culture website. Can you guess our motto? “Restoring the Integrity”.

  5. Develop and build your business's personality that stands out. People want to buy from people.

  6. Go in the opposite direction competitors are headed - you'll stand out. It's amazing how so many successful business leaders and investors are CONTRAIAN in their thinking.

  7. You can't win by yourself. You need peers, advisors, mentors, and others who can help you.

I have a list of about 34 of these lines and I have no idea where they came from, but these are the ones that always stand out to me. I,ll try and add the full document at a later date

If you’d like to learn more about stoicism, you can find “The Daily Stoic. 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living” on Amazon.
